Lisa Moor
Yoga, Meditation and Accredited Breathworks Mindfulness Teacher
My very first yoga teachers taught me one of my most valuable lessons for teaching: With each class, each student, comes great responsibility.

They said “You have the potential to turn someone on to yoga or off for life.”

I have carried this with me throughout my teaching career, always maintaining my own practice and education and putting great care, time and love into each class.

I adore yoga….. from my very first class I was in love. I was an awkward young woman dealing with a chronic auto-immune disease and not really feeling comfortable in my own skin. That first class, those first 90 min took me to a place I had never been before. The whole world just dropped away, there was so much silence, peace and happiness as I walked away from my
first yoga experience more than 30 years ago.

I’m not the model yogi you see in magazines; over the years my auto-immune disease has altered the shape of some of my joints, in particular my elbows. As a younger yogi, this took some time coming to terms with but the more I practiced the deeper my understanding of yoga became.
There is a great quote from Jigar Gor “Yoga is not about touching your toes it is what you learn on the way down.” This just encapsulates yoga beautifully.
Yoga will benefit and is available to everyone, and this is something I am very passionate about. People often say to me that they can’t do yoga! This is simply not true. Whether you can bend yourself inside out or can barely sit on the floor, yoga isall the same. Your breath, your awareness and kindness are allyou need.In all the years of practicing meditation and yoga I have always walked away from each class or practice feeling better.

It’s not always easy living in our fast-paced world, and in a lot of ways our minds, bodies and nervous systems are not fully equipped to deal with it.
Yoga & meditation are not a panacea for all things but they are certainly one of the best complimentary medicines and healing habits we have available to us.To your vibrant health and well being.
